public displays of affection (2021) is a public art project that intervenes in bus stops throughout Miami-Dade County, dispensing basic amenities such as benches, lighting, and awnings. These structures function as gestures that acknowledge commuters as stakeholders within the city. This project addresses socioeconomic and infrastructural disparities by reimagining these amenities and transforming the experiences of our communities.
In a city undergoing rapid urbanization, we provide a space of shelter, repose, and reflection with an accompanying playlist that highlights the city's musical, cultural diversity.
